My Boys...

QVC have got some 'last clicks' clearance deals on at the moment, and I saw a My Minds Eye 'Portobello Road - Family' kit for a fiver. It included the buttons which I seem to remember were almost a fiver on their own! So, with my unconventional family all being made up of boys I thought the kit seemed fitting and did a 12 x 12 layout with it. It's the first 12 x 12 I've done in literally months!

My take on the 7 Gypsies Library Draw...

For this project I was inspired by the 7Gypsies ‘Library Drawer’ but wanted to create something a bit larger and more personalised.

The box itself stands on Tim Holtz ‘Foundations’ and is decorated in 7Gypsies ‘Collage Tissue Paper’ applied with ‘ModPodge.’ I stamped on the tissue paper itself using PaperArtsy ‘Hot Picks 1007’ and Tim Holtz ‘Distress Embossing Powder.’ The front has a few items to embellish the box, including Tim Holtz ‘Ornate Plates’ and ‘Philosophy Tags.’ The box is divided up into years and for each year I have created mini-layouts using a variety of patterned papers, stamps, inks and embellishments. It’s great to be able to easily add to and flick through when the desire takes you!

Yay! New toy!

Today is a good day... I finally got my Bind-it-All delivered the other day, but alas due to some problems with an online craft shop my binding rings were no where to be found! Once again though, Kim saved the day and gave me a one so I could have a play.

So, today with this:

<--- Very sexy machine

I made this:

I also have something else coming through the post soon. Thanks to my boyfriends habit of throwing things around the house, he knocked one of my beloved box frames (painted with a crackle glaze I might add of which I no longer have!) off the wall and it broke into about 100 pieces. No exaggeration there at all : /

So, I handed it him is credit card and told him what he was buying me in return. It shall be delivered soon and I will post of photo of it up here when it does! I love my boyfriend so much....

Scrapaholix Kit

Yesterday was my Scrapaholix day - the papers this month were great and really easy to work with. I did an 8x8 page as I'm quite into that size at the moment and have some fab 8x8 albums for them to go into!

I still feel like this page isn't quite finished, but have no idea what else I could add. I'll put it in front of me on my craft table and hope something springs to mind...

Happy Sunday! Marie x

Jewellery Stand

Here is my lastest creation, inspired by my love of the dress form and my need for somewhere to keep my tonne of necklaces.

My starting point was a metal jewellery stand and a papier-mâché dress form. I sawed the stand in half and inserted into the dress form using hot glue to secure. Using ‘ModPodge’ I covered the dress in patterned paper from BoBunny’s ‘ETC’ range. With some paper I sewed around the edge using a sewing machine to give it a textured look, with other paper I stamped on using the Tim Holtz ‘Haberdashery’ range and also Crafty Individuals ‘324’ and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz ‘Distress Inks’ and embossed.

To embellish, I made a skirt by sewing and pleating a BoBunny ‘Ribbon Wrap’ and a ruler ribbon as a belt.  To complete I used a BoBunny ‘Petals’ flower, some dress pins, gems and sentiment stickers and inked flowers using Tim Holtz ‘Tattered Florals.’

Smash Book

For my birthday last July my friend and scrapbook mentor, Kim (kim-becrafty.blogspot.com) gave me this fabulous Smash Book. I've spend the past few months filling it with photos and journaling. It really appeals to my mini-layout obsession I have right now, I love being able to stick a couple of photos down on a page and not worry about all the planning, resources and time that a 12 x 12 layout can take. It also means that I scrap everyday stuff like food I like and even my favourite mug - something which I probably wouldn't dedicate an entire 12 x 12 layout to.

Mini Canvases

I found these mini canvas and easels at The Works for £2.99 each www.theworks.co.uk. I've used tonnes of different patterned papers, stamps and embellishments on these (too many to list!) but again I have used my latest favourite thing - 7 Gypsies Tissue Paper, this time applied with Claudine Hellmuth's Multi Medium in glossy.

Trinket Box

...The second thing I did with the 7 Gypsies tissue paper was this little paper-mache trinket box. I made a rosette using Tim Holtz's Tissue Tape and a brad from a Studio Calico kit. The 'Always' tag is something I found on a K&co sticket sheet.

Dress Form Frames

When I saw the new 7 Gypsy tissue paper at a recent craft show, I knew I had to do something with it. The first thing I did with it were these paper-mache frames, with some decorated Tim Holtz Dress Forms inside. Again, I've used the Bo Bunny Et Cetera range, some Tim Holtz tickets and some other bits from my stash. I used Mod Podge Glossy to apply the tissue paper.

7 Gypsies Bracelet

This is a bracelet I made  from a 7 Gypsies kit. The two empty charms they provided I used some paper from the Bo Bunny's Timepiece range cut out with a small circle punch and an epoxy sticker over the top, although you could use Glossy Accents for this. I then added some beads and charms found at my local bead shop.

7 Gypsies Photo Carousel Pages

I decided it might be nice to make a whole bunch of mini-layouts - not just because I'm a lazy scrapper (which is true) but because it uses much less resources and I wanted to start using up some of my old patterned paper scraps. Quite literally a tonne of it in my craft room.

These layouts are 4x6 inches and fit in to the 7 Gypsies Photo Carousel:

Ive very very nearly finished my own carousel, and will post photos soon!
